Over the past few weeks, in the heart of Marseille, our Novotel Marseille Centre Prado Vélodrome has revealed a brand-new atmosphere. The lobby, reception area, bar and restaurant have all been completely redesigned to offer guests and locals alike a warmer, more contemporary experience.
A renovation inspired by the mediterranean
From December 8 to March 31, extensive renovation work took place throughout the Novotel Marseille Centre Prado Vélodrome. From the moment guests step inside, the tone is set : natural materials, elegant lines and sun-drenched colour palettes. New shades of deep green, terracotta, beige and taupe create an atmosphere that is both contemporary and distinctly Mediterranean.
“This lobby was born from a simple ambition : to capture the spirit of Marseille without freezing it in time. We drew inspiration from a city in constant motion, where the light changes throughout the day, weathered façades tell stories, and elegance is never ostentatious but always natural.
Luxury reveals itself here through the details : a texture, a raw material, sunlight reflecting on stone, a sense of openness and space.
The Mediterranean spirit guided every decision. The warmth of human connections, spontaneous conviviality, and the blend of cultures and rhythms shaped a vibrant, welcoming and open environment. A place where guests instantly feel at home.
‘Relaxed elegance’ quickly became the guiding principle: clean lines that never feel cold, refined yet authentic materials, and a carefully crafted atmosphere that remains approachable. A subtle balance between sophistication and simplicity, like a linen shirt worn by the water’s edge.

The reception area has also been completely redesigned to provide a smoother and warmer arrival experience. Every detail has been carefully considered to enhance the guest journey: soft lighting, open spaces and textured materials. The reception seamlessly extends into an elegant and light-filled bar, offering the perfect place to relax upon arrival or at any time during the day.
A fully reimagined dining experience
The hotel’s restaurant has undergone a major transformation, relocating from the first floor to the ground floor to join a fully open space designed around conviviality and shared experiences. This new identity is naturally accompanied by a refreshed menu featuring fresh ingredients, Mediterranean flavours and generous, indulgent cuisine. Sun-kissed recipes and seasonal dishes ensure there is something to delight every palate.
